Every day, every single day, I receive 10 to 30 emails telling me that there is a package stuck in customs or a bad address on the label or possibly a high value item that requires a tax deposit and asking me to click on a link that will no doubt download a virus to shut down my computer requiring a large payment to fix. To this point I have recognized the scams and not fallen into their trap.
The problem is I delete so many emails by rote that I feel I might be missing some real opportunities like the one I just caught. Seconds before deleting it I read the sad tale of a Nigerian Prince that is trying to get some money out of the country to start a better life for him and his family. For simply providing him an account in which to transfer the money he will give me a small percentage, small to him, but actually about $5 million dollars.
Frightening to think those rat-bastard scammers might have prevented me from getting paid a fortune for the small task of fronting a few thousand dollars.
