What is the World’s Largest Rodent?

04.10.2023 by Fred Berman //

The Beaver was a popular answer but incorrect.  It is actually the Capybara.  The Capybara is twice as big—the largest rodent on Earth.  These impressive semi-aquatic mammals are found throughout much of northern and central South America.
Recently a small invasive population has been seen in Florida, (I did NOT make it up; it is fact).

The invasive Floridian rodents have been nicknamed The Trumps.  (OK, for that one I may have difficulty providing a credible source).

The Dirty Secret About “White Chocolate”

04.09.2023 by Fred Berman //

White Chocolate contains no cocoa particles.  It’s made from milk products, vanilla, lecithin, cocoa butter, and sugar so it is not real chocolate.  White chocolate was first launched in Europe by the Swiss company, Nestle, which makes sense since they produce the worst chocolate bar ever, the Crunch Bar.

To be fair, I’ll admit growing up I occasionally drank Nestles Quick in my milk, but only when Bosco was not available.  Bosco Rules!

Building a Better Brain Through Music, Dance & Poetry

04.08.2023 by Fred Berman //

This is science people!  I have no time to quote studies and experts as we can all agree I am an expert on just about everything, (Linda’s words…not mine).

Current wisdom reasons that studying the arts, reading poetry, listening to music or letting art flow over you has a measurable effect on brain structure.  It may allow the brain to better focus by creating new synapses and pathways.  It can clarify to reason and make better decisions.

Additionally time spent reading poetry or listening to music is time not wasted poisoning your brain listening to the egregious lies and insane rhetoric spewed by the scum-sucking bottom-feeders that populate Fox News.

The very definition of Win-Win!

The “Milky French” Manicure is Here to Stay!

04.07.2023 by Fred Berman //

How do I describe this incredible, life-changing fingernail finish; sheer, pearlescent, transparent gloss yet opaque?  I’m not alone in my joy. Google trends show an influx in search around “milky manicures” and “milky nail polish colors.” On TikTok, videos hashtag #milkywhitenails have over 118 million views.

Here I am feeling down about our country becoming a second world nation as the number of people living below the poverty level grows and our leaders lie incessantly to regain or hold power and enrich themselves.  And then like a life preserver tossed to a drowning man about to go under for the last time, I read this uplifting article about a new and beautiful way to cover up the natural beauty of nature’s work by simply spreading an inorganic and possibly dangerous material on our fingernails.  HOPE!

I do wonder why it is called “French” though.  Perhaps it is water soluble so people who wear it tend to avoid bathing?

“A Problem Shared is a Problem Halved…”

04.06.2023 by Fred Berman //

I think author Konnie Huq had this backwards.  A problem shared is a problem doubled.  Keep it to yourself!

It’s not the first time Konnie has reversed the order of things.  Look at how she spells her name.  Everyone knows U comes after Q!  She should be Konnie Hqu.  But she is British and they are terrible spellers, always mixing up their Zs and S’s.  Who taught the British how to speak English?

It’s a good things I am here to explain things or life might get really complicated.

How to Save Hundreds of Dollars on Taxes Legally!

04.05.2023 by Fred Berman //

It’s not too late to cut your 2022 tax bill.  Let’s say you normally dispense with the additional paperwork and take the standard $12,950 for individuals and $25,900 for married couples.   But with this new deduction you can easily surpass the standard amount.  Clarinet lessons.  One citizen deducted clarinet lessons as a medical expense stating the dentist said it would correct her child’s overbite.  The IRS approved the deduction.
If you can rack up about $18,000 to $20,000 in music lessons you just might enjoy a surprise refund.
No need to thank me.  All part of the service!

CDC Warning! Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Flour, Eating Raw Dough.

04.04.2023 by Fred Berman //

Do you mean to tell me that now, when we buy a roll of Nestlé’s Toll House Cookie Dough, we have to wait until it bakes in the oven before eating it?
What are we, Tibetan Monks?  Who’s got that kind of willpower?

Why You Won’t See Kate Middleton and Prince William This Week

04.03.2023 by Fred Berman //

More hard-hitting investigative journalism from People Magazine!

It’s because their three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are on a school break and the royals, with not much to do anyway, have retreated to their cottage in the country to take a hardly earned vacay.
Silly me thought it was because nobody gives a rat’s patoot about what they do with the 99% of their time that they spend idle.

Just when it seemed there could be no news less interesting or important than the amazing revelation that Kourtney Kardashian eats in the (Yuk) bathroom, People Mag comes through!

Crises Can Make the World Kinder, UN Report Finds

04.02.2023 by Fred Berman //

The Covid Pandemic, war in the Ukraine, disastrous climate events have all made the citizens of the world more willing to help each other.  This is the conclusion of the latest World happiness report from the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, a United Nations organization.

I imagine he most notable exceptions are Washington, DC, and Palm Beach, Florida, where the citizens have no interest other than keeping their jobs, getting richer and combing their hair so you can’t see they are going bald.

April 1st: Don’t Act Surprised, You Know What’s Coming Next!

04.01.2023 by Fred Berman //

  • Democrats and Republicans realize that our country is divided and have committed to redoubling their efforts to work together for the good of the country and will strive for equitable compromise solutions.
  • Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune fans gain perspective on the shows, finally accepting the fact that they are simply GAME SHOWS and all the time spent accusing, criticizing and complaining on line speaks to their need to “get a life.”
  • 8 Justices of The Supreme Court of the United States will henceforth base their decisions on the U.S. Constitution and not their personal religious beliefs.  The 9th Judge will acknowledge the validity of the rape accusation against him and resign.
  • United States citizens will join the World Community by now calling soccer fútbol, football American Football.
  • In the spirit of cooperation we will adopt and adapt to the Metric System of measurement.
  • I will quit whining and use this site for something constructive.

Here we go…Brace yourselves for the shocking dénouement:
