Talk about a slow news day! This is the headline from People Magazines Royals email.
I didn’t get a chance to read the article but I hope they brought the Royal Pooper-Scooper along. Perhaps it is a blessing to have your lawn enhanced by an application of the Royal Fertilizer?

Should You Change Your Sheets Every Week?
An article on the all-knowing internet says that experts say, barring any specific filth, i.e. grease, sweat, extraneous bodily secretions, washing your bed linen every two weeks is fine.
This brings to mind two thoughts:
1. Who are these experts?
2. Ewwww!
I wonder what they say about sweat socks?
Fourth of July and Business as Usual!
On this the 246th Year of our independence from England the celebration might just be tempered a bit by a mass shooting in Chicago, a supreme court that ignores the constitution to promote their religious agenda, an attack on our capitol by our own citizens and an unending spate of lies about election results from insane politicians.
Somebody light the sparklers. Let’s party like it’s 1999; a time when we still had a glimmer of hope.
Just kidding. All is good. Go back to sleep.
“Ghost” Genes in Coyotes Could Save Critically Endangered Red Wolves
Red wolves are a critically endangered species that was once found throughout much of the southeastern United States — fewer than 30 are still found in the wild today. But conservationists have hope of reviving the wolf species before it’s gone for good. While conducting research on coyotes living in Louisiana, scientists discovered pockets of coyote populations that carry diverse red wolf “ghost alleles,” which could potentially be used to save red wolves from extinction.
Has anybody asked the Red Wolves how they feel about this? Sure, their species is saved but then they will never hear the end of it from the Coyotes.
“Hey Red, how’re you enjoying that beer? I guess you’re glad we shared a ghost gene or two! How about another round for your saviors here?
It may mean the very survival of the species, but at what cost?
What is Up With SPAM Emails?
I am getting 50 to 70 a day. About 400 of them are final warnings telling me my non-existent Macaffee virus protection has expired. Many are in some unintelligible Cyrillic looking text. Surprisingly I have not received one telling me the warranty on my car is expiring. I guess the car people prefer the recorded voice over the mechanical email? But why the huge increase now?
I have narrowed it down to 2 possibilities:
1. The Russians are preparing to influence our next election or
2. There are people who use the internet to illegally extract money from unsuspecting victims.
I am going with the first. The second choice is too ridiculous to entertain!
Seriously? July 1st? 2022 is Half Over?
How is that possible? I have not lost any weight, got on regular exercise program, signed up for a class at the community college, taken a clarinet lesson or accomplished any of the other two dozen New Year’s resolutions I made on January 1st. Sort of Like 2021, 2020, 2019…etc.
I have done an admirable job in one area, CONSISTENCY!
“You’ll Wonder Where the Yellow Went…
…When you brush your teeth with Pepsodent!”
They don’t write advertising jingles like that anymore. Word paintings, beautiful images created with the lofty ideal of bringing life affirming grace into the retail sales process.
“E-Z Pop pops in its own pan. Now you’re swinging daddy, crazy man!”
Ahhhh. Lovely poetry that calmed the soul and gave focus to man’s eternal need to purchase.
“The Only Thing Necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing,”
A popular phrase warning against complacency has been misattributed to the eighteenth-century Irish philosopher and statesman Edmund Burke. It doesn’t really matter who said it; it’s true.
The problem is that people believe posting Facebook rants supporting their position is doing something. Spoiler Alert: It is not. That’s textbook inaction. You really want to help? Do something else like…or…Hmmm, I see the problem.
A Dangerous, Deranged, Seditious President
This title is quoted from The Atlantic on-line regarding some testimony at the Congressional Hearings investigating the January 6th insurrection on Capitol Hill. I didn’t have time to read the article so I am not sure who they were talking about.
I wonder if it’s about the insane, megalomaniacal narcissist that I think it is. Thoughts? Such a mystery!
Shinjuku Train Station in Tokyo is the Busiest Station in the World
3.6 million passengers travel through Tokyo’s Shinjuku Station each day. The rail station first opened in 1885 and was a less-traveled hub until new rail lines were introduced in the 1920s. Today, the station has 36 platforms, serving as the primary connecting hub for traffic between West Tokyo and the major districts in the city.
So how do we apply this information to our lives so that we may learn, grow and be better human beings going forward?
…Well?…That was a serious question. I haven’t got a clue so I was hoping you’d jump in. Slow news day. I’m just filling up space.
