He was born John Bottlepenis in Islington, England, 1951, but changed his name in 1965 to stop the endless stream of cruel jokes at his expense.

May Day (May 1) is a holiday rich in history and folklore, celebrating the return of spring! In America past some fun traditions like May Day baskets and dancing around the maypole were part of this day. In 1898 President Grover Cleveland created Labor Day de-emphasizing May Day.
It is also an ancient Festival of Spring and a current traditional spring holiday in many European cultures. Dances, singing, and cake are usually part of the festivities.
May Day is one of the most important holidays in communist countries such as China, North Korea, Cuba, Russia and the former Soviet Union countries. In Russia, 1 May is International Workers’ Day and celebrated in Moscow and it’s U.S. outpost, Palm Beach, Florida. Here May Day is officially called “The Day of Spring, Labor and Collusion!”
